It’s that time of the year when you’ll be running your air conditioning a lot. Remember to do some simple home care to keep your air running smoothly and efficiently.
The air compressor (the machinery outside on your back porch) needs to be clear of all items. Nothing should be around your unit. Placing items on top of your air compressor makes your air conditioner work harder.
Inside of your home, there is an intake vent in the kitchen right under your thermostat. Keep this area free of items so air can flow freely to your air handler.
Change your air filter regularly! This is important. A dirty air filter creates a blocked path. Air filters can be purchased at any department store, grocery store, and even at local pharmacies in the area. The size of your air filter is 18 x 18 x 1. Majestic Oaks management does not supply air filters.
Your thermostat runs on batteries. If you haven’t changed the batteries in your thermostat lately, now is the time to do it before you forget. All thermostats require two AA batteries.
Keeping the air intake area free of items that block air flow, changing your air filter regularly, replacing your thermostat batteries….all of these things take about 2 minutes to do and saves you a big air conditioning headache in the future. Be kind to your air conditioner and it’ll supply you a summer full of ice cold air!
